Bruce SummerhaysPGA CHAMPIONS TOUR PROFESSIONAL

Bruce Summerhays is in charge of creating one-of-a-kind golf experiences for club members and involving other PGA players and celebrities in Club activities. Bruce is a former head coach at Stanford and golf professional at the famed Olympic Club in San Francisco.

Since joining the PGA Champions Tour in 1994, Bruce has played in over 200 events and has become known as the “Ironman”, consistently finishing in the top 30 on the money list and garnering three wins. In ’04, at 60 years, 6 months and 28 days old, he became the eighth oldest winner in Champions Tour history. Bruce rallied from six strokes back for victory, thanks to a final-round 64 at the TPC at River’s Bend, his best round in over four years.

Bruce was inducted into the University of Utah Athletic Hall of Fame prior to the start of the 1998 season. His favorite golf courses are The Olympic Club, Pebble Beach, Cypress Point and the TPC of Tampa Bay. His biggest thrill in golf was winning the 2001 Champions Challenge with his son Joseph and his daughter Carrie has played on the LPGA.
 
Mitch BrintonEXEC. DIRECTOR, MARKETING
& SALES, CO-FOUNDER

Entrepreneur Mitch Brinton directs the marketing, membership development and golf experience aspects of the Club. His passion for golf mixed with his unique vision and creativity brought The Markers to life.

Mitch has outstanding strategic branding, marketing and sales experience. Prior successes include co-founding Campus Pipeline, Inc., a software and services company helping colleges and universities unify their digital campuses. While there, he helped take the company from three founders to over 300 employees as the company raised over $80 million and signed over 400 universities. Mitch holds a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications and bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah.

An avid sportsman, Mitch plays basketball, softball, and tennis, but spends most of his leisure time at the driving range or on the golf course working to drop his 12 handicap down to single digits.
 
Ron Wade, MBAPRESIDENT
& CO-FOUNDER

As President, Ron relies on his vast business experience, including work in the travel industry to oversee all aspects of the Club’s business development (legal, financial and real estate matters).

Ron has traveled the world in his professional career (international business consulting), working in over 40 countries and playing golf on five different continents. His decision to create The Markers with his long time friend was a means to more fully enjoy his passions of golf and world travel. Ron has dual degrees in marketing and finance and an MBA from Thunderbird (#1 Intl. Business School in the World). Ron began his business career working as a resort hotel marketing director and has enjoyed the travel industry ever since.

Ron is an active participant in the community (college board of trustees, president of regional BSA organization with 500 young boys). He and his high school sweetheart and wife of 20 years, Brenda are the proud parents of seven children. Ron is an avid options trader, scuba diver and sportsman, and played four years of college football.
 
MANAGEMENT


Michael L. Broussard
Vice President, Member Services
As vice president of member services Michael supervises and directs all aspects of the Markers member experiences, including operational aspects of the Markers residences, member reservations, concierge services, and hospitality. Prior to The Markers, Michael spent over 10 years in the hospitality and tourism industry, including working for American Express, Cendant and Hilton Hotels in various corporate sales leadership roles. Michael also served as Deputy Director of the Utah Hotel Motel Association and is the sole proprietor of Alpine Properties, a ski and golf property management company based in Park City, Utah. Michael resides in Holladay, Utah with his wife Debbie and three children: Isabelle, Grace and Thomas.

Brett Wayment
DIRECTOR OF CLUB MEMBERSHIP
During the last few years, Brett has played on several Tours across the country and has had several wins, including the 2001 Colorado Open, the 2003 Provo Open, and recently the 2005 Sierra Vista Open which also carried an exemption into the PGA Tucson Open. In 1997 Brett qualified for the U.S. Open held at Congressional Country Club and then in 1999 he qualified for the Nationwide Tour through PGA Tour School. His best finish was 2nd at the Hershey Open in Pennsylvania. From 1994-1999 he served as the assistant golf professional at Logan Country Club at which time he was also in charge of the USU’S men’s golf team. Brett attended college at Utah State University on a golf scholarship and was a Business student in finance. In 1993 he won the Utah State Amateur at Park Meadows Country Club, one of his most favorite places to play in Utah. Brett enjoys spending time with his family, and together with his wife Leesha and their daughter Teeya they enjoy traveling and all outdoor activities.

John C. Loudon
EXECUTIVE ADVISOR
John Loudon is President and Founder of Luxury Lifestyle Group, LLC, a boutique consulting and transactional firm focused on the development of master planned communities and golf clubs in resort destination locations, including the Caribbean and Central America. He has substantial experience in the general representation of resort developers including designing, structuring and implementing a symbiotic business plans, master plans, and community associations and clubs.

Prior to founding Luxury Lifestyle Group, Mr. Loudon spent five years as CFO for one of Lyle Anderson’s signature properties located on the Kona coast of Hawaii, called Hokuli’a. He was responsible for all aspects of administration, accounting and finance for a $1.5 Billion real estate development and club operations organization. John’s leadership aided the organization and established policies and procedures for the expansion of the entire organization to include lending, bonding, risk management, information technology and financing closing on over $200 million in sales and $500 million in financing during his tenure. John is an avid golfer and member of the Atlanta Athletic Club in Duluth, Georgia.

Sarah Evans
EAST COAST MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR
Sarah brings a background in new business development, luxury travel and public relations to The Markers. She began her career in San Diego working with hospitality clients such as The Hotel del Coronado, Destination Hotels & Resorts and Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas. Her career took her to New York City, where she was a Senior Account Executive at Hawkins International, an award-winning public relations firm specializing in global luxury travel and real estate. Sarah managed accounts including Rosewood Caribbean Resorts, Nomadic Expeditions in Mongolia and Ocean Edge Resort & Club on Cape Cod; and played an integral role in establishing new business for the firm. During her time at Hawkins International, Sarah helped the firm grow substantially, closing top hotels around the world. Based in New York City, Sarah will oversee The Markers new membership development on the east coast. Sarah enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

ADVISORY COUNCIL

The Markers has created an outstanding Advisory Council of talented business, real estate and golf professionals. The purpose of the Council is to: 1) provide expert advice and consultation to management and 2) open membership recruitment channels.


Gary Terry
THE MARKERS ADVISORY COUNCIL CHAIRMAN
Gary Terry is the founder and for 22 years, the CEO and director of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), the industry association for time-shares, resorts, and residence clubs. Gary has a BA in political science from UCLA and a JD from George Washington University. He is a former member of Congressional Staff, US House of Representatives. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War period and was decorated with the American Spirit of Honor Medal.

Billy Casper
MEMBER, SENIOR ADVISOR TO THE MARKERS
During his professional career, Billy Casper won national titles on three continents and is credited with more than 60 professional tournament championships, 51 of which were won on the PGA Tour. Among the many titles that he won are the U.S. Open (1959 & 1966); The Masters (1970); and the Canadian Open (1967). Billy was selected eight times as a member of the United States Ryder Cup Team, and Ryder Cup Team captain in 1979. He is a five-time Vardon Trophy winner, an honor awarded each year to the professional golfer with the lowest scoring average on the PGA Tour. Billy was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1978 and the PGA Hall of Fame in 1982, and won nine titles on the Senior PGA Tour. Billy and his family own a Partner Membership in the Club. Billy will participate in Club activities and assist The Markers’ Players Council in creating amazing golf experiences for members.

Richard W. Hill
RESORT AND SPA CONSULTANT
For the last 15 years, Richard W. Hill has been creating unforgettable experiences at the most prestigious resorts, boutique hotels and spas in the country. Throughout his career, Richard has developed, consulted and managed five star properties that include Green Valley Spa, Enchantment Resort, Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa, and properties with Auberge Resorts/Soleil Hotels. Richard is an expert at creating unique properties with consistent internal operations that exceed the guest’s expectations. He also quickly earns the respect of investors, by increasing profit margins, staying within budget and improving employee retention. Richard will advise Club management on how to make The Markers an experience of a lifetime.


Chris Briscoe
PGA MEMBER, COO RESORT GOLF MANAGEMENT
Chris started as a member of the UCLA golf team. After graduation, he relocated to Utah and began his career in the Hospitality Industry as the Director of Food and Beverage at Robert Redford’s Sundance Resort. During his nine year tenure at Sundance, food and beverage sales increased by 500%. Chris realized he still had a passion for the golf business and began to restructure his career, where he worked as the Golf Professional at The Jeremy Ranch Country Club, Indian Wells Golf Resort in Palm Desert, and Park Meadows Golf Club. Recently, Chris helped form Resort Golf Management. While the focus of this project is on real estate development, Chris worked to elevate the service levels and the quality of the golf course. He is working closely with the owners several golf course developments to develop trail systems, a resort spa, cross country ski programs and other amenities consistent with a “resort community.” He is married to Anne who is an 8 handicapper and has a nine year old daughter Abby who recently made back to back pars at Wailea Gold Course in Maui.


Stanford J. Ricks
REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER AND INVESTOR
Stanford J. Ricks is the co-founder and CEO of Trophy Homes Utah and founder and former partner in Trophy Homes of Las Vegas, founded in 1989. The company has built over 3000 homes since that time. He has also been involved in acquiring or developing numerous other real estate projects including: office buildings, apartments, shopping centers, mobile home parks, residential starter homes, condos, townhouses and luxury homes. Stan graduated from BYU in 1981 with a degree in Financial and Estate Planning. He is a dedicated trail runner, cyclist, golfer, and triathlete having run four Ironman competi­tions, eight marathons, and many long and shorter distance races.

OD Vincent
DUKE HEAD GOLF COACH
OD earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Washington in 1991. Following his collegiate golf career, Vincent became the only American to qualify for the PGA’s European Tour in 1991. He earned a spot in the 1992 British Open, and was among the leaders at Muirfield after a first round 67. In June, 2001, he pursued his dream of playing on the PGA Tour. In January 2002, he played in the Phoenix Open.


Bruce Heppler
GEORGIA TECH HEAD GOLF COACH
Bruce Heppler, now in his 10th year at Georgia Tech, is one of the nation's top collegiate golf coaches. During his tenure on the Flats, he has guided the Yellow Jackets to 23 team wins with 22 tournament medalists. Not only that, but the program has generated 22 All-Americans, including his first recruit Matt Kuchar, who became one of the world's top amateur players. With its fifth-place finish at the 2004 NCAA Championship, the Yellow Jackets have recorded four top-five finishes in the last five years and five in the last seven. Heppler is actively involved with Atlanta Alliance for Children and is a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America, the Golf Club of Georgia and East Lake Golf Club. His favorite golf course - Augusta National. Bruce says, “It is a special treat to take the team there each spring and especially rewarding to watch the faces of the freshmen as they make their way down Magnolia Lane for the first time.”

Bruce Brockbank
BYU HEAD GOLF COACH
In his tenth year at the helm of BYU’s men’s golf program, Bruce Brockbank Jr. continues the tradition of excellence that the Cougar golf program has been known for throughout the years. In 1990, Brockbank earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation management with a minor in health education from BYU. He added a master’s degree in the same subject in 1992.
