The Week of a Lifetime - Natalie Gulbis
My name is Natalie Gulbis and as a Tour member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association I had the privilege of competing in the 2007 Womens’
British Open - the first ever womens’ golf event held at St Andrews. To make my week even more memorable, I stayed at the premier golf luxury home, The Residence, No 9 The Links.
The modernized three storey home overlooks the 18th green and 1st tee on The Old Course, the R&A club house, The Old Course Hotel and has panoramic views of the shoreline. Watching the sun set over the 18th fairway from the third level balcony at The Residence is breathtaking - an experience that does not compare to anything I have ever seen!
The location is ideal for anyone who loves the sport, golf, luxury shopping, sightseeing, history and tradition. It is minutes away from the famous Claret Jug pub, historic monuments, beach and all of St. Andrews’s shops and restaurants.
The amazing three level contemporary yet classic residence is newly renovated with new furnishings and state-of-the-art electronics.
The interior and exterior are stunning. My favourite spots of The Residence were the open kitchen with private atrium and the balcony extended from the master bedroom that sits above the famous 18th hole at St. Andrews.
My favourite moment of the week was walking over the famous Swilken Bridge on the 72nd hole of The Open and approaching the green looking up at my mom and best friends who were on the balcony of The Residence cheering me on. The was a once in a lifetime experience for me to spend my time at No.9 The Residence in the most historic golf destination in the world.
I can only hope that many will get to experience everything that Scotland, the Old Course and The Residence has to offer.
