The Residence
Plans are underway for a custom Markers home on the fairways of Melrose Golf Club. In the meantime, Markers’ Members can enjoy an oceanfront golf villa next to two championship golf courses. The villa is the ideal accommodation for golfing foursomes, large families or couples seeking a getaway weekend with old friends. The large main room opens to a spacious covered wooden porch that looks out to the ocean, and is an ideal venue for socializing, games and entertaining. All bedrooms have their individual private baths.
With a large screen TV, fireplace and constant view of the ocean, relaxation is never a problem. Spectacular kitchens are fully equipped with stainless steel appliances that even the most discerning chefs will admire. Included are a four-top stove, full refrigerator and dishwasher.
The Experience
Just one nautical mile from neighboring Harbortown and Hilton Head and accessible only by private ferry, Daufuskie Island is a place considered one of South Carolina’s hidden treasures. Embraced by the sea, Daufuskie Island is eight square miles of remarkable white sand beaches, warm ocean breezes and unparalleled serenity. With only 300 or so permanent residences, GolfWeek referred to this haven as “Uncrowded Tranquility”.
Playing until you drop is easy on Daufuskie, as Markers’ Members are granted free golfing privileges at both of the Island’s highly acclaimed golf courses, Melrose and Bloody Point. Additionally, Members can charter a short seven-minute boat ride to nearby Harbortown to tackle the courses of Hilton Head Island and return for a peaceful rest – a great way to avoid the traffic of busy Hilton Head.
