Article Excerpt
Think of it as a $300,000 incentive to spend more time on the fairway. The Markers is a new residence club that’s like a luxury time-share for the golf fanatic. Members get access to high-end homes near or on courses in golf meccas such as Cabo San Lucas, Scottsdale, and Pinehurst. The ritzy crash pads average 3,500 square feet and are appointed with 400-thread-count sheets, plasma televisions, and chipping greens. The club keeps them stocked with members’ preferred foods and toiletries and can arrange teem times and discounted green fees at courses like Troon North in Scottsdale.

The Markers owns four homes and plans to buy 32 more in the next few years. Its creator, Mitch Brinton, is confident it will appeal to avid golfers like himself. Co-founder of software firm Camps Pipeline, Brinton had an 18-hole putting course at company headquarters before he sold the business in 2002.
